Marshall Herff Applewhite Sr. a Presbyterian minister and his wife Louise welcomed their son Marshall Herff Applewhite Jr. on May 17, 1931, in Spur, Texas. He has three siblings. Applewhite, a Presbyterian minister’s son, grew up to be a devout believer.

Applewhite graduated from Corpus Christi High School and attended Austin College, where he was involved in a number of student organizations and practiced a mild kind of religion. In 1952, after receiving his bachelor’s degree in philosophy, he then enrolled in the Union Presbyterian Seminary to pursue his dream of becoming a pastor. Around that time, he legally married Anne Pearce, with whom he later had two children, Mark and Lane.

In the early stages of his seminary studies, Applewhite made the decision to quit the institution to seek a career in music. However, he later accepted the position of music director at a Presbyterian church in North Carolina. He sang in the baritone range and favored Handel and spirituals.

Is Marshall Applewhite still alive or dead?

Well, Marshall Applewhite is dead long ago. He died on the 26th of March 1997 at Rancho Santa Fe, California, USA.
