Donald Neil Kerley AM was a coach and footballer in Australia. He is prominent for leading three clubs as a coach and footballer to four South Australian National Football League premierships throughout 3 decades and for playing for South Australia in 32 state games.

Kerley was born on February 20, 1934, in Barmera South Australia. Kerley won the West Adelaide Football Club Best and Fairest Award four times.

In 1997 he was part of the Australian Football Hall of fame.

The West Adelaide Football Club remade the names of the club’s best and Fairest Award to Neil Kerley Medal in 2015.

He retired from playing football in 1969 and began his coaching career in 1970.

Kerley was a coach for Glenelg in both the 1974 and 1975 SANFL Grand Finals where they lost twice to Sturt in ’74 and also Norwood in 1975.

He coached Glenelg for the last time in 1976 as they placed third place.

He got wedded to Barbara Gordon on 25 February 1955.
