Dr. Pol is a Dutch-American veterinarian known for his starring role on the reality television show The Incredible Dr. Pol on Nat Geo Wild. Born Jan-Harm Pol on September 4, 1942, in the Netherlands. He graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from Utrecht University in 1970. He moved to Michigan, United States with his wife Diane Dalrymple where he worked for ten years before opening his practice in 1981.

In 2011, Pol was offered a show to portray his day-to-day activities at his practice The Incredible Dr. Pol. The show aired for 20 seasons, following the lives of Pol, his staff, and his patients. Pol’s style has received a mixed reception from veterinarians. In 2013, Pol received an honorary doctorate of public service from Central Michigan University.

Dr. Pol married Diane Dalrymple in 1967 and they have three adopted children, Kathy, Charles and Diane.
