Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. was born on November 17, 1944. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduated in 1966, and made his screen debut in the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Described as one of the comedic genii of his time, Devito has starred in over 40 films including, Junior where worked alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Get Shorty, Matilda, Space Jam, and The Rainmaker. He has also lent his voice in animated movies like The Lorax, and Smallfoot.

Devito founded the production company Jersey Films in 1991 and has produced several films like Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, and Erin Brockovich. He made his directorial debut in the 1984 film The Ratings Game. He starred with his wife, Rhea Perlman in the film Matilda.

DeVito tied the knot with actress Rhea Perlman in 1982 and they have three children including Lucy Chet DeVito who is an actress.
