He was born Jahmiel Foster but he widely known by his first name Jahmiel. He was initially called Culture Jamiel, but he changed it to simply Jahmiel as he further refined his musical style.

Jahmiel nurtured a relationship with Jamie and Ahkeem Roberts of Young Vibez Production and he was later signed to Shocking Vibez under the management of Patrick Roberts in 2009-2013.
