Mills Lane was born Mills Lane III was born on November 12, 1937, in Savannah, Georgia in the United States of America. Mills Lane was a professional boxer who fought in the welterweight division. Lane had a total of eleven fights which include ten win including six knockouts and one loss. Lane became a professional boxer while he was still pursuing his college education.

Aside from being a professional boxer, Mills Lane also became a boxing referee, judge, as well as a television personality. As a referee, Lane refereed fights between Betulio Gonzalez and Erbito Salavarria, Evans we Holy field and Mike Tyson II, and others.

Mills Lane also served as the District Court Judge of Washoe County, Nevada after some years of his career as a lawyer. Lane also played the role of Judge Mills Lane in the television court show Judge Mills Lane.

Mills Lane was married to Kaye Pierce Lane with whom he had two children named Tommy and Terry. Lane passed away on December 6, 2022, in Reno, Nevada at age 85.
