Pearl was born in Johannesburg in Ivory Park. She grew up among two sisters. When Pearl was 19 years old, she lost the mum, Nondlala Paulina Modiadie. She became very close to the Dad thereafter.

Pearl started off school at a Catholic school, she was one of the best students. She then moved on to the Kempton Park’s Norkem Park High School. From there she pursued a diploma certificate in Media studies and Journalism at Rosebank College. She graduated in 2009.

A casting agent spotted Pearl when she was a teen and asked her to be an extra on a show, this began her career.

Her big break came when she began hosting the Kids show Craz-e. She went on to present the show sistahood on the same channel.

She has also starred in Rhythm City, Ambitions, Generations and Scandal! and the eighth season of Strictly Coming Dancing.

She began her radio career began at YFM and worked at the station until 2013. She went on to become a radio presenter at Metro FM also in South Africa.

In 2006, she was asked to MC the Sunday Times Generation Next awards – making her the youngest person to host the event. She was 19 at the time.

She was in a relationship with Nkululeko Buthelezi, they made their relationship public in 2015 but couldn’t stand the test of time. Their engagement lasted for two years after which Pearl called off the wedding.

The couple however came back six months later but then eventually ended things in 2018.

Late 2018, Pearl revealed in an Instagram her new found love, a handsome looking white man. She is currently pregnant for him and the two are planning on tying the knot soon.
