Adonis Tuggle, a Purdue University student, accused Purdue police Officer Jon Selke of hitting him repeatedly, elbowing him in the face, covering his face in the snow, and choking him during his arrest.

Jon Selke’s actions were condemned by prominent civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represented the family of George Floyd when former Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin slew him.

Selke is one of six-night shift reporting staff officers, according to the Purdue University website.

Purdue University police are looking into the acts of a white cop who was caught on film hitting a black student and forcing his head into the snow when in an arrest.

Adonis Tuggle, a Purdue University student, claims that Purdue police Officer Jon Selke repeatedly punched him, elbowed him in the face, smothered his face in the snow, and choked him during his arrest.

Tuggle makes the claims in an Instagram video that shows Selke restraining Tuggle during the arrest. The article has received a great deal of attention. The footage was taken by a lady who claimed to be Tuggle’s girlfriend in the video.

Officers were contacted to the site at approximately 8:20 p.m. by someone who stated it looked a woman was being kept against her will, according to University police Capt. Song Kang.

According to Kang, since Officer Jon Selke arrived, he divided Tuggle and the woman, but the student refused to follow his directions.

The cop can be seen in the video calling for assistance and ordering the woman filming the incident to go away after she appears to touch him. He threatens to tase her if she makes touch with him again.

Purdue Police Officer Jon Selke, who was accused of using excessive force after a video showed him forcing his arm into a Black student’s neck and face has been placed on administrative leave until further notice, according to PUPD Chief John Cox.

When Kang was asked what led to Selke restraining and arresting Tuggle, Kang indicated that Selke arrived on the scene separated Tuggle and the woman. Then Tuggle objected to Selke’s lawful requests.

According to Kang, the department’s reports have been sent to the prosecutor’s office for assessment and possible prosecution.

Tuggle was arrested and put into the Tippecanoe County Jail on charges of resisting arrest.

Tuggle was released after posting a $250 bond.
