Richard E. Taylor is a physicist and also a Professor at Stanford University he later shared Nobel Price in Physics in 1990 with Jerome Friedman and also Henry Kendall.

It was because they were able to pioneer investigations that concerned deep elastic scattering of electrons on protons and bound neutrons which have been of essential importance for the development of the quark model in particle physics.

Richard was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada on November 2, 1929, and he died on 2018 February 22 in Stanford, California, U.S.

In 1950, he acquired his BSc and in 1952, he graduated with his MSc from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

Richard later started working on his Ph.D. degree at the Stanford university when he was newly married and later joined the High Energy Physics Laboratory.

Patrick was given an experiment in which he was to use polarized gamma rays to study pion production as his thesis when he was getting his Ph.D.
