Thutmose born Umar Ibrahim is a Nigerian-American rapper, singer, and songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York.

He was born on the 4th of August, 1995 in Lagos State, Nigeria.

He first gained recognition when he released a freestyle to Kendrick Lamars’ single “Humble”.

Early life and education

He grew up in a city close to Lagos City, Nigeria. His family moved to New York shortly after the famous Lagos armoury explosion in 2002 when he was 7 years old.

He went to the Alfred State College for a year where he studied Computer. He however, dropped out to pursue music.


He first gained recognition when he released a freestyle to Kendrick Lamars’ single “Humble”.

He released his first single on the 16th of October, 2017 through Pigeons and Planes. He followed it up with another song titled “Run Wild” featuring Nombe on the 30th of April, 2018.

The song was selected as the theme music for EA Sports’ FIFA 18. He released the EP “Run Wild” on the 8th of August, 2018.Thutmose

He was included in the soundtrack album Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, released on December 14, 2018 for the 2018 animated film of the same name.

On November 10, 2019, Thutmose was part of the song “Giants” by virtual hip-hop group True Damage, created to promote League of Legends.

The group debuted during the 2019 League of Legends World Championship. The rapper plays Ekko, a playable character in League of Legends.

 The group also includes Keke Palmer, Soyeon, Becky G and Duckwrth.
