For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; And whether we die, we die unto the Lord; Whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:08

Togbe olo III was baptized into the Catholic faith on the 1st of day of May, 1930 with the name Winfred Senyo Kodzo Avudzivi. He received his first communion on the 24th May, 1942 and continued with his confirmation on the 5th of December, 1946.

He later received the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in 1982 at the Comboni Catholic church at Sogakope. When his better half died so suddenly in 1989, he stayed unmarried for over twenty (20) years before again going to the alter on the 5th of April, 2010 when he had the second and final Holy Matrimony consecrated by Rev. Fr. Patrick Delali Attah between himself and Mrs. Veronica Abra Avudzivi.

Togbe was an active Catholic. His commitment to serve God was evident in his participation in church activities. He hardly missed church service. He was much disciplined, generous, very quiet, soft spoke and always had smiles.

He opened his doors and arms for both young and old, provided a you were disciplined. Though a king, he never lords it over his subjects. These culminated in the tact with which he settled disputes among his people.

Our last experience with him was during the planning of the late Togbe Dzimedzor IV’s funeral. This was a memorable event as his advice and input was very valuable. So also was his physical participation in the activities. This cannot be easily forgotten.

Togbe, the Catholic church mourns in grief and bids you farewell today due to the various roles you played to bring progress to your people but we know your maker whom you served diligently will console us and place you in His Heavenly Kingdom.

Togbe, Togbe, Togbe, May Mother Earth Lay Gently On You!!!

Rest well, till we meet again. Dzudzor le Nutifafa me.

Tribute by Church Example 2

TRIBUTE BY THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH – GHANA, SHALOM ASSEMBLY, RUGA
TO THE LATE MADAM COMFORT GARIBA

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death
or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelations 21: 4

Unassuming, calm, and yet engaging is how we would describe Madam Comfort Gariba.
The late Comfort Gariba as we all know was a member of The Apostolic Church- Ghana Shalom Assembly, Ruga. She joined the church the year ……………………… even when the church had series of crisis due to location.

The late Comfort Gariba was also active in church activities and was a member of the Praises team. She sang Alto melodiously to the glory of God.
Auntie Connie as we affectionately called her was kind, and gave advice to people who got close to her in the church; she contributed a lot during Sunday School hours.

Nevertheless, we as a church knew of her ill health however, we always prayed that she would get well soon and join the family of God. Unfortunately on ……………, …………… 2017 news reached the church that Comfort Gariba had passed on at the 37 Military Hospital.

We felt it was untimely and too sudden for her to be confronted with cold hands of death. Our hearts are filled with sorrow; in fact, the news of her passing away was with great dismay, shock and pain to the church.
Madam Comfort Gariba committed herself to God till she passed away. The church would have wished that you would be with us today but as the word says man opposes, God disposes. Shalom Assembly has really lost a great pillar and an exceptional friend.

Madam Comfort Gariba, we thank God for your life and we also ask Him to grant you rest in His bosom till we meet again. We are consoled by the fact that you are in a better place, where there is no night, no more weeping and no more pain.

The leadership and members of the entire church say; fare thee well, and we ask the Lord Almighty to keep you till we meet again.
Rest in peace!
Dayi ye!!
