The University of Manitoba is one of the leading universities in Canada. They offer top notch courses, from undergraduate, masters and PhD. The purpose of this article is to take you through the 2024 University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) For Masters and PhD Students. Their programs include 98 master’s degrees, 51 PhD programs, and one micro-diploma program.

Programs of Study

Students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees who have demonstrated their performance are eligible to enroll in Individualized Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS). Students can create a customized syllabus that crosses typical disciplinary lines by combining significant elements of at least two units of existing programs.

The University of Manitoba’s Collaborative PhD Program gives exceptional graduate students the chance to study at a partner university outside of Canada in addition to the University of Manitoba. Students stay in residence for a while, finish some of their coursework, and meet all standards set forth by each university.

To acknowledge and encourage academic brilliance, universities provide more than $2 million in graduate fellowships to full-time master’s and doctoral students each year. Students who have proven to have exceptional intellectual capacity and academic achievement are eligible to apply for the fellowships.

To receive a UMGF, students need to be recommended by their department or unit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The UMGF is not available for master’s degrees in supply chain management (MSCM), finance (MFin), or business administration (MBA), since these programs do not include a research or thesis component.

Value and Duration For The UMGF

The highest possible amount of UMGF master’s funding is $28,000, with rewards valued at $14,000 annually for 12 or 24 months. The maximum value of UMGF doctorate prizes is $72,000. The awards are worth $18,000 annually for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months.

The worth and duration of an award are decided by departments or units, who also have to fulfill the requirements listed in the eligibility table.
