About The Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Programme

For exceptional international students, the University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships offer an unmatched chance to attend one of the top universities in the world and live in one of the most diverse cities in the world.

The goal of the scholarship program is to honor students who stand out for their outstanding academic performance, inventiveness, and leadership qualities within their school.

Particular attention is given to how the student has impacted their school and community as well as how they may go on to positively impact the world community in the future.

Benefits that Come with the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Programme

Each year, the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Programme awards outstanding students from all around the world, including foreign students enrolled in Canadian high schools. It’s the most desired and competitive scholarship offered by U of T to students from abroad.

Full living expenses for four years, including books, incidentals, and tuition, will be paid for by the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships. For first-entry undergraduate programs only, the scholarship is used at the University of Toronto. Every year, Lester B. Pearson Scholars will be awarded to about 37 students.

How To Apply

You must apply to the University of Toronto for an undergraduate program after being nominated by your school to be considered a Pearson Scholar. You will receive secure access to the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship application once you have applied to the University of Toronto and been nominated.

Eligibility Criteria

You need to be the following to be eligible to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship:

• An overseas student, meaning that you are a non-Canadian who needs a study permit
• You must be in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2023 to start classes at the University of Toronto in September 2024 (students who are already enrolled in post-secondary education will not be considered; students who enroll in another post-secondary institution in January 2024 will not be considered).
• Get your school to nominate you.

High schools that haven’t been contacted or validated yet are invited to apply for our program. Early September is when high schools that took part in the previous year’s program will get their nomination access.

To start your studies in September 2024, submit an application for admission to the University of Toronto by the relevant dates. Please be aware that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for the U of T program which is your top preference.

You can fill out the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application after we’ve received your nomination and you’ve submitted an application to the university. Once your school has successfully nominated you, you will receive a private connection to the scholarship application.
