Igor Yakovlevich Vysotsky was a Soviet boxer, who was born in Yagodnoye, Khabarovsk Krai, Russian, SFSR, Soviet Union, on 10 September 1953, he competed from 1971 to 1980. He started his boxing career at the age of 16 and established himself as one of the most promising boxers in the Soviet Union.

Igor Vysotsky is best known for twice knocking out triple Olympic champion TeĆ³filo Stevenson, he is the only boxer to ever do so out of more than 200 opponents.

Despite this, he never took part in the Olympics. He was the Soviet Heavyweight Champion in 1978, he was also ranked as the top Soviet heavyweight of the late 1970s from an American perspective, and had a 161-24 amateur record. Vysotsky, who competed for the Trud Sports Club, was well-known for his aggressive style, punching force, stamina, and durable chin. Despite having 24 losses in his record, he was widely known for these qualities.
