Patrizia Cavalli is an Italian poet who was born in Todi, a municipality in the province of Perugia in central Italy, and currently resides in Rome. Con passi giapponesi (2019), My Poems Won’t Change the World: Selected Poems (2013), Datura (2013), Flighty Matters (2012), Pigre divinità e pigra sorte (2006), Sempre aperto teatro (1999), and L’io singolare proprio mio (2001) are among her numerous poetry books (1992).

 

Jorie Graham, Jonathan Galassi, Kenneth Koch, Mark Strand, Susan Stewart, and Rosanna Warren, among others, have all translated her poems. Cavalli has also released Shakespeare and Molière translations.

 

Cavalli provide ways that may question some of the arrogant assumptions of the current period style. Regardless of the tone of the poem or the tough waters traversed by its writers at any given time, reading them gives the sensation that the act of producing poetry.

At the age of 75, Patrizia Cavalli passed away. On June 21, 2022, she passed away. The reason for the death of the Italian poetess has not been revealed.
