When did Erin Foster go missing?

Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel were locals of the Tennessee town of Sparta. Bechtel spoke with his father, Ronnie Bechtel, over the phone on the evening of April 3, 2000. Foster was seen by her brother Will that evening.

Foster and Bechtel attended a party that evening, but they afterwards returned to Foster’s parents’ home. Around 10:00 p.m., both teenagers were probably last seen driving Foster’s black Pontiac Grand Am. When Foster vanished, he was 18 years old, while Bechtel was only 17 years old.

Nobody saw them alive after the evening of April 3, 2000, which led to conjecture about their whereabouts and the fabrication of sighting reports.

In 2005 and 2006, searches were carried out both locally and in Pensacola, Florida, in response to accusations that Foster was living and working there.
On November 24, 2021, Jeremy Sides, a civilian scuba diver, investigated a lake near the location of the kids’ party. Sides did not find Foster’s Grand Am in the submerged state. On November 30, Sides employed sonar technology to locate an automobile close to Highway 84, thirteen feet below the surface of the CalfKiller River. However, the sides ran out of light.
On December 1, 2021, Sides returned to the car he had spotted in the river the previous day and plunged to capture it on camera. The proprietor of the licence plate was found to be Foster’s Grand Am.

To alert him of his find and to confirm that the car belonged to Foster and included two human remains, he phoned White Country, Sheriff Steve Page. After being missing for 21 years, Foster and Bechtel’s corpses were eventually found in the vehicle.
In 2022, Foster and Bechtel were both laid to rest.
