The trio known as Migos, originally known as the Polo Club, was founded in 2008 by Quavo (born Quavious Keyate Marshall), Takeoff (born Kirshnik Khari Ball), and Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus). Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle, and Offset is Quavo’s cousin; the three were raised together and are related by blood. The three of them spent their formative years together in suburban Atlanta, in Gwinnett County, about 30 minutes northeast of Downtown. “I’m not going to say, “My neighborhood was tough, so I had to go out and work,” as I sit here. Spin’s Brandon Soderberg gave it an 8 out of 10 ratings, saying it “is a super-cut of Dirty South vibes” and comparing the three members to Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, and Future.
