Yassine Bounou, also known as Bono, is a professional footballer from Morocco. He currently plays as a goalkeeper for Al Hilal, a club in the Saudi Pro League, as well as the Morocco national team.

At the age of 17, Bounou’s exceptional goalkeeping skills caught the attention of a scout from OGC Nice. He signed with the club, but unfortunately, due to bureaucratic issues, he was unable to play for them and returned to Wydad AC.

In 2011, Bounou made his senior debut for Wydad AC after being promoted to the first team a year earlier. However, his journey didn’t stop there. On June 14, 2012, he joined AtléticoMadrid, a renowned club in La Liga. Initially, he was assigned to the second team, the reserves, in Segunda División B.

On September 1, 2014, Bounou was loaned to Real Zaragoza, a team in Segunda División, for the entire season. After his loan spell, he signed a two-year contract with Girona, another team in the same league, on July 12, 2016. In his first season with Girona, he shared playing time with René Román, participating in exactly half of the games. Together, they helped the team secure promotion to a higher division by finishing in second place.

Bounou’s impressive performances led to him becoming the first-choice goalkeeper for Girona in the top-flight league. In January 2019, he extended his contract until June 2021. However, after Girona suffered relegation, Bounou joined Sevilla on loan for one year on September 2, 2019. Eventually, on September 4, 2020, he signed a permanent four-year contract with Sevilla.

Bounou’s talent and contributions were recognized on May 31, 2023, when he was named the Player of the Match in the Europa League final against Roma. He played a crucial role in Sevilla’s victory, saving two penalty kicks in the penalty shootouts, which resulted in a 4-1 win for his team. This triumph secured Sevilla’s seventh title in the competition.

On August 17, 2023, Bounou made a move to Al-Hilal, a club based in Riyadh, signing a three-year contract. In the same year, he received nominations for prestigious awards such as
