50 Cent is a rapper, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur from the United States. 50 Cent’s net worth as of this writing is $40 million. 50 Cent has made at least $260 million through his many efforts, including selling songs, touring, and multiple brand collaboration deals, during his career.

Unfortunately, he has also overspent (particularly on real estate, automobiles, and lawsuits), prompting him to declare bankruptcy in July 2015. There will be a lot more on that file later in this post. 50 Cent’s fortune surpassed $100 million prior to his bankruptcy.

On July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York City, Curtis James Jackson III was given the name 50 Cent. His drug-dealing mother Sabrina reared him in the South Jamaica ghetto. Jackson was just eight years old when she passed away.

Then, his grandma reared 50 Cent. When he was 12 years old, he began selling narcotics after school. He was arrested after trying to bring drugs and weapons into his high school in the 10th grade and being caught by metal detectors.

When authorities searched his residence and found heroin, crack cocaine, and a gun, they arrested him once again in 1994 for selling cocaine to an undercover police officer. He completed a boot camp for six months and received his GED.

When Jackson put out the controversial underground rap tune “How To Rob,” he quietly became more well-known. Jackson was preparing to release “Thug Love,” a song with Destiny’s Child, when he was wounded and sent to the hospital in May 2000.

A shooter had ambushed him in front of his grandmother Queen’s house. 50 Cent was shot nine times, including in the hand, arm, hip, both legs, chest, and left cheek, by an assailant (reported attacker Darryl Baum, a bodyguard for Mike Tyson).

Three weeks later, the attacker passed away. 50 Cent inked a publishing agreement with Columbia Records while he was in the hospital for 13 days. He attempted to publish the song “Ghetto Qu’ran,” but Columbia fired him.

He moved to Canada to record songs for mixtapes in order to increase his popularity because he was also blacklisted by the US recording business as a whole. The mixtape “Guess Who’s Back?” was released by him in 2002.
