About FC Lorient
FC Lorient, a professional football team in Lorient, Brittany, has a long and storied past dating back to its establishment in 1926. Under the guidance of Czechoslovakian manager Jozef Loquay, Lorient transformed from an amateur club to a formidable force. In 1929, the team’s impressive performance led them to win the Champions de l’Ouest title, propelling them into the prestigious Division d’Honneur of the Brittany region.
Although Lorient had limited success on a national level before 1998, their fortunes changed when they made their debut in Ligue 1 during the 1998-99 season. Before this milestone, Lorient primarily operated as an amateur club.
However, their greatest achievement came in 2002 when they emerged victorious in the Coupe de France, securing a memorable 1-0 win over Bastia in the final. This remarkable accomplishment remains a significant part of Lorient’s history, showcasing their determination and skill on the field.

Students are educated either:
- At St Joseph-Lasalle College. The school allows students to be released every day (with some exceptions) at 3.20 p.m.
- At the Jean Paul 2 college in Ploemeur. The school allows students to be released every day (with some exceptions) at 3:40 p.m.
This allows players to achieve a normal education (all lessons are compulsory) by combining it with quality training. The day ends at 6.15 p.m.
