Ghanaians push for a complete lock-down of cities and towns in Ghana as Coronavirus cases rapidly increase

The Ghana side of Twitter has been buzzing since the confirmed cases of Coronavirus rise exponentially from 27 to 52.

Many of these frustrated souls and somewhat highly passionate individuals are heaving coals of pressure on the central government to put the nation under a complete lockdown.

According to these people, they believe Ghana is on the verge of experiencing what Italy is going through if their pleas are not heeded to.

Although some of these tweets are highly emotional and irrational, the conclusion can be drawn that these are Ghanaians who are showing genuine concern.

A section of Ghanaians believes that it will only take a complete lockdown for Ghana to be able to make progress with the curtailing of the spread of the virus.

However, others believe a complete lockdown may not be the ideal approach for Ghana since our economy is largely informal and most of the people are below the middle-class bar.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization has predicted that Africa may be the worst hit and affected by the Coronavirus.
