I wrote to the Gov’t twice for a peaceful talk but they didn’t mind so don’t blame me for the violence – Papavi Charles Kormi Kudjordjie

Charles Kormi Kudjordjie, the leader of the Western Togoland group called Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF), has spoken for the first time from his hide-out.

In a message shared via his official Facebook page, Papavi as he’s simply called addressed the violent activities carried out by some people believed to be members of the Western Togoland Separatist group.

This group blocked all roads entering Volta Region from other regions. As if that isn’t enough, they also set fire to STC Bus terminal in Ho, the Volta Regional capital city.

Commenting on this, Papavi said he wrote to the Presidency and Parliament on two occasions for a round table peaceful discussion but no attention was given to him.

So now that these violent activities are taking place, he doesn’t know why they’re putting all the blame on him.

Papavi stressed that his group HSGF has been a peaceful one since its inception in 1994 — have never been charged at any court as been violent before so the records are always there to tell that they’re people of peace.

He went ahead to say that the security agencies must carry out thorough investigations and stop arresting innocent people.

He further added that if the investigative institutions in Ghana think they’re not in capacity to carry out the needed investigations, they can reach out to top investigative institutions in other parts of the world to assist them.
