Bob was born on September 5, 1929. In 1952, he graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a degree in Business Management. By 1954, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean war.
Newhar started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1959, he released his comedic album which earned him the 1961 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
He released another comedy skit The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back and won Best Comedy Performance Spoken Word.
Newhar featured in a lot of television shows like Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives and NCIS.
