Hidan is a fictional character in the animated television series Naruto. In the series, Hidan is an S-Rank missing-nin who defected from the Yugakure to join the Akatsuki.
He partnered with Kakuzu, despite their dislike for each other.
Hidan had committed the murder of his neighbours which made Jashin grant him immortality and prompted the Yugakure clan to request that Akatsuki kills Hidan for his crimes.
Hidan tried to kill his punishers Konan and Kakuzu but was not successful. Intrigued by Kakuzu’s mortality, Hidan joined Konan and Kakuzu.
Hidan tried to kill Shikamaru, however, Shikamaru was smarter and stronger. He informs Hidan that the forest belongs to his clan, and would ensure it remains with him for eternity.
He placed an explosive in Hidan and denoted it with a cigarette. Hidan was blown to bits by the explosive.

Did Hidan die after the explosion, No, he could have because Hidan is immortal? He was buried alive but Hidan is not yet dead we do not know how long he can survive underground.
