Victoria was born in 1961 in a small village, Palmira in Colombia. She met Pablo in 1974 through her brother who worked for him. Though her family raised objections to their relationship because Pablo was a known criminal, she was smitten with him. By 1984, she had two children for Pablo and had to endure years of affairs and life on the run.

Victoria Eugenia Henao and her two children Juan and Manuela fled to Argentina after Pablo’s death in 1993 where they adopted new identities. In 1999, she was arrested and charged with theft and money laundering but was released after 15 months.
