Tony was drafted into the army in 1944, he was assigned as a replacement infantryman to the 255th Infantry and sent to the front line. He narrowly escaped death several times and has been outspoken against wars.
Tony’s success in music started in 1951 with hits like Blue Velvet, Rags to Riches, Stranger in Paradise and his version of Chicago.
Tony has reinvented himself and worked with musicians of this generation like Carrie Underwood, Queen Laitfah and Lady Gaga.
