According to the criminal code of Ghana act 29 section 132, it states clearly that, it is a defrauding offense to take money from someone as transport on agreement to show up and refuses to do so.
Obviously, this has turned out to be a common thing in our present days, as men are always lamenting on sending money to ladies as transport fee on agreement to visit them, but they dont show up.
However, an inspector of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Inspector Amoah has thrown more light on this issue. He cautioned ladies who are involved in such act to refrain from it as may lead them up to five years jail term.
“Dear men, if a lady tells you to send her money for transport to come over and you send it to her but she neither shows up nor refund the money back, you can refer to ACT 27 SECTION 132 of the criminal code and file a case of defrauding by false pretence against her” He said.
