About Wolfsburg Football Club

Wolfsburg FC is a professional sports club based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany, was originally established as a multi-sports club for Volkswagen workers in the city. While its football department is the most well-known, Wolfsburg FC also includes badminton, handball, and athletics. After World War II, a new club called VSK Wolfsburg was formed on September 12, 1945.

The team initially wore green and white uniforms, a tradition that continues today. The jerseys were provided by local youth trainer Bernd Elberskirch, who had ten green jerseys, and the shorts were made by sewing together white bed sheets donated by the public. In January 2017, Wolfsburg signed a letter of intent to collaborate with the American team Chattanooga FC, with a focus on women’s football, youth development, and local social responsibility.

Both clubs also expressed interest in organizing international friendly matches in the future. Notably, in the 2018-19 season, Wolfsburg finished in 6th place in the Bundesliga, which earned them automatic qualification for the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League.

How To Apply For Wolfsburg FC Academy Scholarship

Wolfsburg asks for your understanding that applications for trial training can only be considered up to U15. Exceptions are U17 players who have already played in the junior Bundesliga and who have played in the junior national teams. VfL continues to ask all applicants for trial training to contact us by email ( [email protected] ) or in writing with a photo. Only complete applications (with player profiles) in German will be answered.
