The couple got married in 1945. Ed was a self-taught demonologist and lecturer while Lorraine was a light trance medium, it was a perfect match as they worked closely together. It is reported the Warrens investigated over 1,700 haunted houses. They founded the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) in 1952 and authored several books based on some of their cases. Most of their books have been adapted into movies like The Haunted, Annabelle, The Nun and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
Skeptics have punched holes into the Warrens’ stories arguing that the stories are “meaningless ghost stories”. Steven Novella maintained there is absolutely no compelling evidence to back the claims of the Warrens.

Ed Warren died on August 23, 2006 while his wife Lorraine died on April 18, 2019. They are both buried at Stepney Cemetery in Monroe, Connecticut.
