Jerry Lee Lewis is an American singer and pianist, he has been described as “rock and roll’s first great wild man” and one of the most influential pianists of the 20th century.

Lee was born to a poor farming family in eastern Louisiana. He started playing the piano as a child with his cousins Mickey Gilley (later a popular country music singer) and Jimmy Swaggart (later a popular televangelist).

He started recording in late 1956 and he recorded his greatest hit “Great Balls of Fire” in 1957.

Lewis recorded 17 top 10 singles between 1968 and 1977. In 1977, Lewis was one of the most bankable country stars in the world, in 1986, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In 2006, he released another album titled Last Man Standing, it stayed at No. 1 for two weeks.

In 2019, Lewis suffered a major stroke and had to cancel all his concert scheduled that year. He recovered and by 2020, an online concert was held to celebrate Lewis’ 85th birthday, with the likes of Elton John, Willie Nelson and Priscilla Presley performing.

Lewis is still very much alive and doing well for an 86-year-old rock star.
