Brian Douglas Wilson is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who co-founded the Beach Boys. He has also produced other acts like the Honeys and American Spring. By the mid-1960s, he had co-written more than two dozen U.S. Top 40 hits, including the number-ones “Surf City”, “I Get Around”, “Help Me, Rhonda”, and “Good Vibrations”.
Wilson was born on June 20, 1942. In 1961, Brian with his brothers Dennis and Carl, their cousin Mike and friend Al formed a band Beach Boys. They signed with Capitol Records and released their first album, Surfin’ Safari. Brian wrote most of their songs and also wrote for other artists like DJ Roger Christian. Brian, however, had many demons, he suffers abuse as a child and this affected his mental health. He struggled with drugs and the psychedelic drug LSD (or “acid”). His constant drug problems caused a shift in his relationship with his ex-wife, Marilyn.
