Davido released “Dami Duro,” which is the second single from his debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo, in 2012 won the Next Rated Award at The Headies (2012). He recorded several successful singles between 2013 and 2015, and in January 2016, he agreed to a record deal with Sony Music.
He established the record company, known as Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which has signed artists like Mayorkun, Liya, Peruzzi, and Dremo.
Davido and Sony’s RCA Records inked a record deal in July 2016. His five-track EP Son of Mercy, which includes the singles “Gbagbe Oshi,” “How Long,” and “Coolest Kid in Africa,” was released in October 2016.
