Andy Williams was an American singer. Recording 43 albums in his career, he sold over 45 million records. He was also well known for his television show, The Andy Williams Show.
Born Howard Andrew Williams on December 3, 1927 to a middle class family. He started performing at a young age in church. He formed a singing group with his brothers and named it, the Williams Brothers in 1938. The brothers were signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and they appeared in a couple of films like Anchors Aweigh and Ziegfeld Follies.
Williams started his solo career in 1963 and released an EP, “X” and by 1956, he released his only number one hit, “Butterfly”. In 1962, he produced the soundtrack for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and it won Best Original Song in 1962.
Williams was married to Claudine Longet in 1961, and they divorced in 1970. He married Debbie Haas in 1991.

In 2011, Andy Williams disclosed he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. On September 25, 2012, Williams died of bladder cancer at the age of 84.
