Brandy was born on February 11, 1979, in McComb, Mississippi. She is the oldest sister of R&B singer Ray J and cousin to popular rapper Snoop Dogg. Brandy started singing in church at the age of two and at the age of eleven, she entered talent shows. Brandy became a star when she starred in the sitcom Thea in 1993 and the next year she debuted her self-titled album which peaked at No. 20 on Billboard.
Brandy made her film debut in the 1996 film Set It Off. She waited for also a decade to release another album, Afrodisiac and it debuted at No. 2 on the charts in U.S and U.K. She has appeared on several shows like the first season of America’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, and the Tyler Perry’s drama Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.
