On August 29, 1965, Gerhard Rodax, an Austrian professional footballer with a focus on strikers, was born. Rodax was conceived in Tattendorf.

Gerhard established the record for the most goals scored in the Austrian Football Bundesliga that year while playing for Admira Wacker, where he started his professional career and stayed seven years.

That led to his signing a deal with Atlético Madrid in Spain, but he only played there for a little over a season before moving back to Austria to join Rapid Wien, where he finished his playing days in 1993 at the age of 28.

During the 1995–96 season at Admira, Rodax made a brief comeback. Rodax’s international debut for Austria occurred in 1985.

In the 1990 FIFA World Cup, Rodax scored in Italy’s 2-1 triumph over the United States. For his country, Gerhard made 20 appearances and scored three goals. The match against Sweden in May 1991 marked his last outing for his country.

There is no longer a Gerhard Rodax. On November 17, 2022, he passed away.
