Montgomery was born on April 15, 1933, to an actress. She graduated from the Spence School in New York City and went on to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Elizabeth made her television debut in her father’s series Robert Montgomery Presents and also debut on Broadway on Late Love. She got her breakthrough role, in the ABC situation comedy Bewitched in 1964. It was an instant success, and she received five Emmy and four Golden Globe nominations. Elizabeth went on to star in The Legend of Lizzie Borden and A Killing Affair.
Elizabeth was married four times, her last husband was Robert Foxworth. She had three children.
