Ronnie Lee Milsap is an American country music singer and pianist. This Country Music Hall of Famer is recognizable for hits like “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World”, “Any Day Now”, and “Stranger in My House”.

Milsap was born January 16, 1943 with a congenital disorder which left him almost completely blind from birth. He was raised by his grandparents who were poor. He was interested in music at a young age which prompted him to master the piano.

In 1963, Milsap recorded his first single, “Total Disaster/It Went to Your Head” with the help of an Atlanta DJ, Pat Hughes. He finally gained recognition when he moved to Nashville and released the song, “I Hate You” and it was an instant hit. In 1975, he won his first Grammy for the song, “Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends”.

Milsap went on to release success upon success, making him one of country music’s best-loved and most successful artists.

Ronnie Milsap is alive. In 2019, his son Ronnie died from an undisclosed medical condition which led to the hashtag #ripronnie on social media with some fans thinking it was the singer. The singer is still touring and has performed five times so far in 2022.
