Charles Robert Redford Jr. is an actor, producer and director. He is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, two Golden Globes and the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

In 2014, he was listed on Times magazine’s Top 100 most influential people.

Redford was born in Santa Monica on August 18, 1936. He was not exactly a bright student so stayed inspired by playing sports and acting. He started acting on stage in the 1950s, he is known for his role in the Broadway show Barefoot in the Park.

By the 1960s, Redford ventured into the motion pictures, starring in flicks like Inside Daisy Clover, The Chase, The Sting, The Great Gatsby and the critically acclaimed All the President’s Men.

Redford had a long career and has worked with some of the best in the industry like Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Jane Fonda, Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson and Sidney Poitier.

In 2020, Redford lost his son James to liver cancer which affected the actor greatly. Robert is alive and lives with his wife Sibylle Szaggars at his home in Sundance, Utah.
