He took over the presidency of Pakistan through a coup d’etat in 1999 and became the tenth president of Pakistan.
To prevent an impeachment, he resigned from office in the year 2008. He belonged to the All Pakistan Muslim League.
Musharraf got married to his wife, Sehba Musharraf on 28 December 1968. He had two children with his wife by name Ayla Musharraf, a daughter who is an architect and Bilal Musharraf, his son.
