Cube was born O’Shea Jackson Sr. on June 15, 1969. He began rapping in ninth grade, he started writing lyrics for N.W.A in 1986. By 1990 he launched his record label, Street Knowledge and dropped his album, “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted”.
Cube started acting in 1991 in the movie Boyz n the Hood alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. He has gone on to star in over 40 films like the Barbershop franchise, Poetic Justice, Friday franchise, Anaconda, Torque, Are We There Yet? and Fist Fight.
Cube has worked on other projects like documentaries; Black. White. And Straight Outta L.A. Cube’s lyrics has been controversial, his second album Death Certificate was seen as anti-Semitism and containing racial slurs. In 2015, he expressed regret at using the word “Jew” in the song.
