Jerry McCord Van Dyke was an American actor and comedian. He was the younger brother of Dick Van Dyke. He enjoyed a long career as a character actor, his best-known films are Love, American Style, Fantasy Island, Annabelle’s Wish, and To Grandmother’s House We Go.
Jerry McCord Van Dyke was born in Danville, Illinois on July 27, 1931. His first guest was on The Dick Van Dyke Show and then on The Ed Sullivan Show. He made other minor appearances in McLintock!, Palm Springs Weekend, and The Courtship of Eddie’s Father.
Jerry finally accepted the lead role of attorney David Crabtree in My Mother the Car, the series was a commercial failure. He also starred in the comedy Accidental Family, sadly it was another failure and Jerry did not get any major successful roles.
Jerry was married twice and had three children with his first wife Carol; Jerri Lynn, Kelly Jean, and Ronald.
