Anderson gained prominence after being selected as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for February 1990. Pamela Anderson, who has the record for having appeared on the most Playboy covers of any individual, continued to routinely grace the magazine’s cover.

When Anderson made her television debut in 1991 on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, where she played Lisa for the first two seasons, she became increasingly well-known. Due to her prominent role as “C.J,” Pamela Anderson rose to fame on a global scale.

Anderson was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of waitress Carol Anderson and furnace repairman Barry Anderson. Her great-grandfather was Juho Hyytiäinen, a native of Saarijärvi, Finland, who eventually emigrated to Canada.

He left the Grand Duchy of Finland in 1908 (which at the time was a part of the Russian Empire). He changed his name to Anderson when he arrived as an immigrant.

Anderson also has Russian ancestry on her mother’s side. Shortly after giving birth on July 1, 1967, which was the 100th anniversary of Canada’s formal foundation by the Constitution Act, 1867, Anderson was called a “Centennial Baby” by the media.
