According to Country Fancast, Strickland is not the father of these two girls; Wyonna’s father is Naomi’s ex-boyfriend Charles Jordan and Ashley’s father is her first husband, Micheal Ciminella.
Strickland was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, the son ‘of a preacher who loved Gospel music. He started gospel music at the early age of 12.
He sang with quartets till 1966 when he was forced to join the military. He continued to sing with the gospel quartets when he returned from the military four years later.

According to Daily Variety, the publicist for Judd released a statement saying that Strickland the husband of Judd for 32 years will not be making any further statements. Naomi Judd’s family requested privacy during their mourning.
