Rodney Dangerfield was an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and musician. He was known for his one-liner catchphrase “I don’t get no respect!”. Dangerfield also appeared in some movies like The Projectionist, and Natural Born Killers.

Dangerfield was born “Jacob Rodney Cohen” in Deer Park, New York, on November 22, 1921. He attended Richmond Hill High School, and after graduation sold newspapers. This comedian started performing at nightclubs at the age of 15 but had to quit to get a more stable job.

By 1968, Dangerfield started working on The Ed Sullivan Show and other shows like The Dean Martin Show and The Tonight Show. He co-founded Dangerfield’s comedy club where comedic genius performed like Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Roseanne Barr, and Bill Hicks. He won the Grammy for his 1980 comedy album No Respect.

This New Yorker reached the peak of his career in the 1980s doing comedy and appearing in television shows like The Simpsons, and Little Nicky.
