The Andy Griffith Show is an American situation comedy television series that aired on CBS from October 3, 1960, to April 1, 1968. The show was produced by Aaron Ruben and Bob Ross, the show had a total of 249 half-hour episodes spanning eight seasons—159 in black and white and 90 in color. It won eight Emmy awards over the years.

The main characters were Andy Griffith who played the role of Andy Taylor, the widowed sheriff of Mayberry, North Carolina, Frances Bavier who starred as Andy’s aunt and housekeeper, Bee Taylor, and Don Knotts who acted as Andy’s cousin, enthusiastic deputy, Barney Fife.

The show ended fifty-four years ago, so it is unlikely most of the characters would still be alive, however, a few cast members are still alive such as Elinor Donahue who is 85 years old now, Ron Howard is 68 years old, Clint Howard is 63 years old, and Richard Keith is 72 years old.

All of the major cast members of the Andy Griffith show are dead, Andy Griffith died in 2012, Don Knott died in 2006 and Frances Bavier died in 1989.
