William Laurence Bingham was the father of Billy Bingham. On August 5, 1931, he was born. For many years, he was a Northern Ireland international footballer and manager.

Between 1948 and 1950, Billy Bingham was a member of Glentoran, his first professional club.

After moving to England, he spent eight years with Sunderland, appearing in 227 games.

He then moved to Luton Town in 1958, where he made nearly 100 league appearances in just three years. Following that, he spent two years with Everton, when he nearly reached 100 league appearances again.

At the age of 33, Billy Bingham’s career came to an end when he broke his leg in a match for Port Vale in 1964.

Bill Bingham is no longer alive. At the age of 90, he died on June 10, 2022.

“He passed away quietly last night at 10.30 pm in a care facility in Southport,” Billy Bingham’s family said. “We are very proud of all our dad achieved.”
