He first made headlines by making appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late 1990s.
Then, in September 2002, McGraw was able to debut his program, Dr. Phil, thanks to Oprah Winfrey. Joseph J. McGraw Jr. and his spouse Anne Geraldine Jerry Stevens had a son named Calvin. Dr. Phil and attorney Gary Dobbs co-founded Courtroom Sciences, Inc. (CSI) in 1990.
