George Walker Bush is an American politician and businessman who served as the 43rd President of the United States of America and the 46th governor of Texas.

He is also the first son of former US president George H.W Bush.

He was born on July 6, 1946. Bush graduated from Yale University, where he studied history. He joined the Texas Air National Guard in 1968, he was assigned to Houston, flying Convair F-102.

When he left the National Guard, he earned an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Bush declared his interest to run for governor of Texas in 1994. Bush won the general election with 53.5 per cent against the incumbent governor Richards’ 45.9 per cent.

In 2000, Bush defeated former Vice President Al Gore by receiving 271 electoral votes to Gore’s 266 to become the 43rd President of America.

His first term was marred by the 9\11 attack and invasion of Iraq, however, he won the second term by an absolute majority of the popular vote (50.7 per cent to his opponent’s John Kerry 48.3 per cent).

On August 6, 2013, George Bush was successfully treated for a coronary artery blockage, he has not disclosed any major ailment since then.

Bush is alive and still very active although he spends time at home reading and painting.
