Stephen Edwin King is an American author of horror, crime, science-fiction, and fantasy novels. Nicknamed “King of Horror”, most of his books have been adapted into films like It, Carrie, Stand By Me and Misery.
King was born on September 21, 1947. From high school, he developed an interest for horror after reading the book Tales from the Crypt. He continued to the University of Maine in 1966, where he wrote the column, Steve King’s Garbage Truck for the school newspaper.
King started selling stories after graduating from University since he would not find work as a teacher. King’s first published work was Carrie. This book set his career in motion and by 1976, the book was adapted into a movie. He went on to publish over 65 books.
From 2000, King moved on to online publication with the book, The Plant. He released his book Full Dark, No Stars on his website.
