The inspiration to write a song or compose a musical piece may come from different sources but for Ghanaian highlife crooner, KiDi, he gets his from the act of sex.

In an interview on 3FM’s Urban Blend hosted by Miriam Osei Agyeman, the ‘Say Cheese’ hitmaker discloses the weirdest of places he gets the vibe to write his songs.

“Inspiration hits in the weirdest places and the weirdest times…I may be doing the number two, I may be bathing, I may be in the middle of something,”he said.

The host, who wasn’t satisfied with his answer, asked if he has ever drawn inspiration in the middle of having sex  tow rite his songs and KiDi replied by saying:

“Oh yeah of course… ‘Freaky Lord’ [a song on the ‘Blue’ EP]…it wasn’t that song in particular but I’m saying like there’ve been songs where I’ve been in the middle of [making love]…and sometimes it hits. That’s why I always have my voice recorder,” when he is making love.” he concluded.

KiDi is on a radio tour to review the progress of his “Blue EP” that had the hit song ‘Say Cheese’ on.

Known in real life as Dennis Nana Dwamena, KiDi’s rise to prominence began at the MTN hitmaker which he won and later released his breakthrough song ‘Odo”.

‘Odo” became a continental hit which later had Davido and Mayorkun of Nigeria on the remix. Since then, KiDi has become a household name and a strong force in the Ghanaian contemporary highlife genre alongside Kuami Eugene and King Promise.
